We have a MicroVax running Ultrix 3.0 and DECnet 3.0 which acts as a mail gateway for VMS sites on campus to Internet sites. However for those users (most of them) who have not got an account on the MicroVax, sending mail via the gateway results in their return address (both the From and From: lines) to be rewritten as "guest@gateway", the default user for the mail11 object (see output from ncp below). Yhis is of course, not very helpful for people trying to reply to the mail. ncp>sho obj mail11 char Object Volatile Characteristics as of Fri Nov 9 13:29:13 EST 1990 Object = mail11 Number = 27 File = /usr/etc/mail11dv3 Default User = guest Type = Sequenced Packet Accept = Deferred ncp> The version of sendmail (which came with Ultrix 3.0) is 5.57 (I think) and the DECnet mail11 object is mail11dv3 (Version 3??) Has anyone encountered this one before? Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks in advance -- --- Mathew Lim, Unix Systems Programmer, Computer Services Centre, ANU, Australia.
