I'm trying to get sendmail with IDA up and running on a system that
has NIS but is not Internet. Currently I am running a BSD4.3 variant
on a Sequent Symmetry with sendmail 5.65 and IDA 1.4.2. Mind you that
all of this is being done in my own directories so as not to screw up
what works since I am having awful luck.
We use NIS stuff heavily and are not Internet. I'm not a sysadmin
so I'm not all wise and find extracting all the Internet related stuff
out of the docs a bit confusing. We rely mostly on UUCP to do the mail
off-site, ether for local and also use SMTP. Uh, also sdbm.
So if someone has their m4 sendmail.cf configuration working with
NIS I'd like to see it. I don't know what to do with the aliases, since
some of the examples have mail.aliases defined as the ALIASES, and I
don't know why.
I am still confused on some basic stuff, so if I sound off the wall it's
just because I don't know what I am talking about. Please try to
muddle through :)
