de5@ornl.gov (Dave Sill) (02/14/91)
I'm running a mailing list with roughly 200 recipients throughout U.S. and Europe, primarily. The system I'm using is a DECsystem 5810 running version 3 Ultrix. Incoming messages are filtered and resent using the command: /usr/lib/sendmail -odb -oep -oi -f decstation-managers-relay@stc06.ctd.ornl.gov decstation-managers-outbound@stc06.ctd.ornl.gov What happens, apparently, is that a bunch of the messages go out relatively quickly, but then there's only bursts of activity every couple of hours. The last time, the sendmail process went away without removing its lock file. What's the best way to recover from this? Is there anything I can do to speed up the delivery of these messages? Thanks in advance. -- Dave Sill (de5@ornl.gov) It will be a great day when our schools have Martin Marietta Energy Systems all the money they need and the Air Force Workstation Support has to hold a bake sale to buy a new bomber.
