I would like to know how others handle the administration of e-mail groups or mailing lists on the main (UNIX) mailhost of an organisation. Do you allow it and if so do you do the obvious and simply have the superuser add groups to the aliases file? How do you handle the possibility of hundreds of such requests coming from a community of thousands of users? Is someone having to do this fulltime? How do you check for the legitimacy of a request?
