I can think of a few people around here who will probably be
exclusive LFID's before very few years have passed. What I want
to see is the ECR peripheral (Edible Character Recognition).
I think, though, that the alphabet soup machine should be called:

	Lexographic
	Unconventional
	Noodle
	Character
	Handler,

and, of course, CRAY would release a much larger unit called:

	Supercooled
	User-friendly
	Pasta
	Processing
	Electronic
	Reader.

Of course, the final result would be:

	Character
	Recognition by
	Automatic
	Processing,

which is more than a little disgusting.

There have been attempts at Spectrographic Hologram Initiation Training made
by some of the less avant garde companies like Teleological Rationocinative
for Unified Scientific Scans. They were the result of the Hewlett Epson
RCA National Intelligence Artifice System which operated for a number of years
without support. In one of its lower tricks HERNIA hung itself up by making
an effort to lift itself by its bootstraps. The process was known as Bootstrap
Intelligence Terpsicohoran Coproactive Hardware and it was, as I recall, the
first major effort involving all female technologists.
There is more here, but Alfred is summoning me to the case and the light i
s on the moon. Awrrrk, the Penguin has returned and no one in Bloom County is
safe any more. To the batcave,Robin.

Speaking of strange devices, remember the Batman episode with the Joker
where the Joker used a "Surfing Knowledge and Ability Transferometer" to
steal an expert surfer's surfing ability? Or the postage stamp machine
(I believe) that turned the Green Hornet and Kato into giant postage
stamps?
