Maybe this isn't a FAQ, but I am looking for information which explains the hierarchy among the various addressing schemes. Perhaps it's in an RFC? I keep getting addresses from sites which have all the characters [!@%], such as "uunet!foo.bar.org!user%xhost@yhost", and I think there's a bug in my sendmail.cf which is mangling the address when it comes in via UUCP (rmail) from UUnet (I'm using sendmail.mail on SunOS, with some modifications). I'd appreciate any help anyone can lend.$$ -- PATH: mrl@uai.com UUCP: uunet!uaisun4!mrl PSTN: 213/822-4422 USPS: 7740 West Manchester Boulevard, Suite 208, Playa del Rey, CA 90293
