[comp.mail.sendmail] Getting a copy of Mailer-Daemon messages

wolf@grasp1.univ-lyon1.fr (Christophe Wolfhugel) (04/15/91)

I would like to get a copy of the MAILER-DAEMON messages generates by
several machine when they receive a bad message.

On AIX 3.1, sendmail documentation indicates to use option OPuser, seems
to work... even when no error occurs.

I checked docs on both SunOS (4.1) and SVR3.2 and none of them speaks about
such an option. Is there any undocumented function doing this, or is it
simply not implemented on such "standard" sendmail?

This works in Berkeley versions (at least in 5.64 and 5.65). It is documented
in my vendors documentation and I believe they license their version from Sun.
(However in this case only the headers are in the copy).

I'm looking for this too - but I need a solution for smail 3.1.20.
Any idea how to enable this feature? The source of smail already implement
this but how to enable?

Thanks, Heiko.
