The closest thing Indeed. This was what started this chain! I realised when I switched from using MMDF on Suns in my academic days to using sendmail on a variety of home-brew and commercial Unix systems that the vendor supplied stuff was hopeless. (When we were a vendor I supplied UK-Sendmail 2.1, by the way). Therefore I wrote a config for my main router machine, which is a Sun using IDA, and then wrote a set of m4 files to generate config files for all the other cruft on the site. I've even used that same load of stuff elsewhere. It's been seen to work fine on Suns, various V.2 and V.3 iron, Sequents, Dells with V.4...but not on IBM 6150s or RS/6000s. The 6150 for some obscure reason didn't call S3, the 6000 DOES call S3 (nothing like breaking something and then breaking it back, yes?) but has had a few options removed. And the IBM supplied sendmail.,cf isn't even worth lining bird cages with. ian
