He was so called because he would talk incessantly. Chopper the bulldog was his protector. The cartoon featured a fox (now what was his name?) that was always after poor little Yackee. My favorite episode had the fox buying a voice throwing device (a small disk) so he could make Yackee apparently say all kinds of nasty things to Chopper. Chopper gets ticked off, and tells the duck goodbye. Just as the fox is about to feast on the duck, Chopper see's what is going on, and forces the fox to swallow the disk.
