I am in need of advice from sendmail gurus out there on how I might go about doing this. I need to configure my sendmail.cf to handle mail between two machines on an ethernet here, which this machine is on, and our UUCP connections. I will be identifying these machines onto Usenet via the maps, but their Usenet names have to be different than their actual hostnames on the ethernet. This machine is the go-between; it's the only one at this site with phone lines to Usenet, but it can talk SMTP with both of the non-Usenet machines. I've created a rewrite rule in one of the rulesets that always gets done (zero, I think...) which will translate the Usenet name to the ethernet name. I've also made a sender field rewrite rule for Muucp so that the ethernet name becomes the intended Usenet name. (It gets ".LOCAL" added to the end of it in the bang path, but that's easy enough to fix.) Is there anything else I'm missing? Is there a better way to go about doing this? Thanks in advance for your advice... =============================== Murray S. Kucherawy ========================== Motorola Canada, Ltd.
