[comp.mail.sendmail] sendmail for SCO Unix v3.2.2

das@trac2000.ueci.com (David Snyder) (06/21/91)

I've deceided to dump "mmdf" on my SCO box and go with "sendmail". Does
anyone have any examples of a "sendmail.cf" file (for SCO boxes) for me to
look at? My mail requirements are simple: local-mail or other. My computer
has a smart-host and ANYTHING that's not local should go to my smart-host.
Oh, I almost forgot, my To: header should not be re-written; it's fine as-is.
Thanks!

YEAH TEAM! I got sick of it in a hurry too. They stated something to the effect
that MMDF was/is the wave of the future. It's funny that MICNET is it's default
transfer agent. :-)

Well Dave, Try this Trick:

login: root
Password: <your pw here>

# mkdev sendmail-init

[ follow menus from there ]

SCO has lousy docs for MMDF but the Sendmail interface is one of the best I
have seen. It's .cf file is right on target but does favor uunet for e-mail
that can't be resolved locally.

SCO does not support Sendmail...at all!!! Word has it they even plan to
remove it from the system in order to force users to use MMDF. (*ACK*)

NOTE: These are my opinions and not those of my employer's. Nuff said.
