I have just recently started running Sendmail 5.65b/IDA-1.4.3 on our sun3's and sun4's here. All the suns are ethernetted, with an AARNET link out, and a UUCP link. If I type 'mail uucpnode\!root' (\ for shell niceness) I can send mail no problem. If I then type ps -aux | sort | tail I see a process called 'send-mail -i uucpnode!root' chewing up 88% of cpu time, and this is AFTER it has finished sending the mail. A particular run has lasted two days before being killed. (The uucp 'uux -rz - < mail msg' finished almost immediately, and is not hung. Besides, if the sendmail were hung waiting, it would be using no time.) Now, this is annoying (to put it mildly) and I would like to know if anyone has experienced this magic hanging. If you have fixed it, could you PLEASE tell me about it! Cheers David. PS mail would be preferrable, I dont often get a chance to read news.
