There is one episode of the PINK PANTHER where the panther speaks. One phrase, seven words. If there is another time when the panther speaks let me know. johnb uucp:{laidback,sco,microsoft,{allegra,ihnp4!{convex!ctvax}}!trsvax!johnb}

I don't know if you're thinking of the same one, but there was one (Pink Ice?) where the panther spoke in a vaguely David Niven accent throughout. This was the one where he had a diamond mine and these two British army types whose names we were told, but I can't remember them (Carstairs?) were trying to steal the diamonds off him. It ended with the Panther rolling a boulder-sized diamond off into the sunset and saying words to the effect of: "They say a rolling stone gathers no moss - and we certainly wouldn't want *this* stone to gather any."
