Ah, at last, references to what I consider the best example of media metahumor ever concocted... "The Further Advantures of Nick Danger" (Side 2 of "How can you be in two places at once when you're not really anywhere at all?", also known as "All Hail Marx & Lennon") by... the FIRESIGN THEATRE! Check this one out, folks, it has so much metahumor it's almost impossible to pick it all up in one listening... An example: Rocky Rococo, the villain, confronts Our Hero: Danger: "So, you have a key..." [or something to that effect] Rococo: "No, only half a key -- I have to split it with the Sound Effects Man." Sound Effects Man (in background): "Thanks, Rocky!" And, of course... "No, no, no, no! You don't understand how radio works! This is *my* flashback; all I have to do to bring us back to the present is fade my voice out like this and cue the organist [cue organist]..." Find it! Listen to it! It's 20+ minutes of sheer fun!!! [Gush, gush...] (The other side of the record is OK, too :-) "He continues on... Ruthlessly (*"I wonder where Ruth is?!?"*)... Doggedly... (*"Arf arf arf"*)... at 4th & Drucker he turns left... at Drucker & 4th he turns right... he crosses the street and walks into a sandstone building (*"Ow! My nose!"*)..." ========== ========== David C. Tuttle Department of Computer Science, University of Washington [ihnp4,decvax,ucbvax]!uw-beaver!uw-june!dtuttle dtuttle@uw-june.ARPA
