If you use 8 bit Prodos a lot then you will want to try this out. It's a SYS program that installs a replacement Quit code into ProDOS. It then immediately exits (to the the new Quit code), and instead of 'ENTER PREFIX OR RETURN TO ACCEPT' and all that crap you get a handy-dandy menu selector that runs on any Apple // and is memory resident. I wrote it because it's exactly what I wanted P8 Quit code to do. Play around with it a bit, I believe that it is fully bug-free (I'm extremely familiar with each piece of it and have been hell testing it for a month) but I expect somebody to prove me wrong. In fact, I'd go so far as to say, my quit code won't crash. If it does, then something in your system crashed IT. BTW if you run it and it is already installed you will get a cheep message to that effect -- hit a key and you're back to the quit code. The program is exactly 1K (one page of install/credit and three pages of replacement quit code) so if you want to permanently install it into prodos you can do that by BLOADing it, moving $2100-23ff (the quit code) to somewhere else (like $1000), BLOADing PRODOS, finding the old quit code and replacing it (exactly 3 pages of code), and BSAVEing PRODOS. That eliminates the need for running A.H.H.H.SYSTEM or making it your boot application (i.e. the first .SYSTEM file on the disk, so on booting the quit code is installed right away and then you are dropped into the quit code to choose your first SYS program to run).
