This is rather a meta-issue; I hope you find it worthwhile. One of my colleagues brought an article to my attention from the 31 May, 1988 issue of _PC Week_, on p. 20, entitled "Draft Paving Road for C-Language Standard." That article states that the draft which reflects the changes made during the April meeting of X3J11 is scheduled for public review from 03 June to 03 August. Accordingly, I called Global Engineering Documents and arranged to pick up a copy of the draft. When I arrived there late Friday afternoon, the draft that had been set aside for me -- which was the most recent available from Global -- was the old one. (For example, "noalias" figured prominently in it, and it indicated that the public comment period ended on 12 April.) I just finished talking with a representative of Global this afternoon (Tuesday), and as of this moment, the best she could offer was that I could call her periodically (once every day or two), and she would be able (and willing) to check on the status on the computer there. I am willing to post another (rather shorter) note when I find that the current draft is actually available. david -- David H.
