[comp.std.c] question on strftime

arnold@audiofax.com (Arnold Robbins) (01/23/91)

I have some questions about the standard routine strftime(). Among the
conversions listed are:

%c replaced by the locale's appropriate date and time representation
%x replaced by the locale's appropriate date representation
%X replaced by the locale's appropriate time representation

What is meant by appropriate? If, for example, I wanted to implement strftime
for the typical U.S. Unix type of locale, and it's 1:54 pm on Januay 23 1991,
what do the above conversions return?

Please reply by mail; I'm not always caught up with this newsgroup.

Thanks!
