I'm looking for a TeX font for Tolkien's Tengwar character set and/or a runic font. Anyone know if these exist? Thanks in advance for any help. Tree Tom Emerson Dept. of Psychology Clarkson University Potsdam, NY 13676 tree@sun.soe.clarkson.edu

From tugboat 9.2 page 140: Elvish, or more properly, Tengwar, is the script used by the elves of Middle Earth. It was described by J.R.R. Tolken. On 4 Dec 1986 Mike Urban released the METAFONT conde for the Tengwar script throught the Usente newsgroup comp.text. Mike said the following: [Here are the] METAFONT sources for a digitized version of Tengwar (Elvish script) created by J.R.R. Tolkien. Thy have only been tested on a 300dpi laser printer. No guarantee of the quality of either the code or the output is offered. I'm not patricularly satisfied with the quality of the code (my fist non-trivial attempt to use METAFONT), but the results look OK to me.
