[comp.fonts] IPA and Chinese fonts for TeX

horne-scott@CS.Yale.EDU (Scott Horne) (06/16/89)

Some font requests:

1) I know this has been asked before, but here it goes again: Where can I get
a free IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) font for TeX? I noticed
once that someone was selling one for $150 or so; this won't do, as I'm a
poor undergrad at a school that costs more than $20,000 per year. :-(

2) Also, does anyone know anything about Chinese (or Japanese) fonts for TeX?
I swiped `chinese.tar' from somewhere (I think it's available on
   `sun.soe.clarkson.edu', `cs.washington.edu', and `science.utah.edu'), but
it provides no instructions, only the `.mf' files. Besides, one of the
`.mf' files states that one must use a special version of MetaFont with it.
Are there other packages available, or is there documentation for this one?

Any pointers (except for void pointers :-) ) will be appreciated. I'll
summarise if I get a non-zero amount of information. Advance thanks.
