The following posting is for Dimitri Vulis upon his request: X-Original-To: henry@jtsv16.uucp,hk@simulina.se.uucp, DLV I've been very happy with the following setup for Russian word processing: * An MS-DOS computer with VGA (also works with EGA and MCGA) * My GOSTCII code page (1) * TeX (SB TeX, Beebe's drivers) (2) * American Math Society's Cyrillic fonts for TeX (Canon engine, 300 dpi) (3) * Hewlett-Packard LaserJet (tested and worked with Apple Laserwriter too). (1) is in the public domain and is available from SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL in PD1:<MSDOS.SCREEN>CYRILIC2.ARC. If you can't FTP, you can get it from one of the mail servers. (2) is public domain/shareware and can be FTP'd from various places. (3) is available from AMS, P.O.Box 1571, Annex station, Providence, RI 02901-1571 for about $40 for s/h. I see Russian letters on screen (as well as Latin), and can switch the keyboard to standard Russian layout, and I get pretty good output in a variety of sizes. I've been told that AMS will soon start distributing an updated version of the fonts, compatible, in particular, with my Russian TeX hyphenation patterns.
