We have a problem with Bitstream fonts. We can use them fine when we print from WP5.0 locally (to a printer attached to a local workstation) but none of the fonting information works when we print to a network printer (a printer attached to the Novell server). The letters come out, but they do not have any of the bitstream fonting. Is something getting lost in a buffer or queue somewhere? Any ideas? Please help, we are trying to print......

A Novell print queue won't start sending the info to the printer until the user stops sending it to the queue. If you don't have permission for enough disk space on your network, only parts of the font definition will be sent and it won't work. At least this is what happens to us... uunet!dialogic!gerry | "Even a dead plant turns | Dialogic Corporation OR | over a new leaf | 300 Littleton Rd gerry@dialogic.UUCP | when the wind blows." | Parsippany, NJ 07054 | | (201)334-1268 X193

Here is a clarification since someone wrote and was not clear about the problem. (Tried to e-mail you, but my mail was returned. Hence this post.) I mean that if I type in something and specify that it should be in 36 point Swiss font and italicized (to pick an example), it prints in 36-point Swiss Italic if the laser printer is cabled into my LPT1: port on my workstation, but it prints out in 10-point Courier (regular old typewriter-looking font, the default) if I print from the same workstation, using the same program, same file, the same printer only it is cabled to the Network server as a network printer. Comprendez? What should look like this: / / /----- / / /----/ /----/ /----- / / / / / / /_____ /____ /____ /____/ Comes out like this: HELLO Any clues? We are anxious to be able to print....
