From: Andrew Knutsen <knutsen@Sri-Unix> I would like to clarify something about this issue: digestification is of more advantage to arpanet people than usenet. It cuts down on overhead for arpa sites, but having both net.micro and fa.micro would create more overhead for usenet sites. It is not my impression that a digest for usenet has been suggested; the option is proposed for arpa sites, which have different ways of both receiving and reading the material. If individial uucp people want it via individual distribution, that might be possible to arrange. However the point seems to be moot right now since no site has stepped forward yet... Btw "notesfile", which is an adaptation from PLATO, is available as a user interface to usenet on UNIX systems.
