I'm looking for some Courrier X-Windows screen fonts, 100 dpi, in the 28, 29, or 30 point range. Are there any fonts this big in the public domain somewhere? I can't fork over $$$ for these. I'd like to just be able to obtain them by anonymous FTP. (Is this hopeless?) I am also looking for some 240 dpi (bit-mapped) fonts for an (old) laser printer. I especially need Courrier and Elite fonts, in the 8 to 12 point range. I don't really care about the "accuracy" of the fonts, i.e., I would accept a 300 dpi 10 point font for a 240 dpi 12 point font (which really makes a 12.5 point 240 dpi font). What fonts are available by anonymous FTP? I can use any font file(s), but I would need to know the format of the file so I can write a short program to convert it to my old laserprinter's format. For example, I could use an HP font file, but would have to be able to obtain technical docs on their font files -- where can I obtain such information (about HP's font file data structure)? Thanks for any help... -gf (Email: frison@cs.arizona.edu)
