[comp.fonts] Need serbian cyrillic screen and postscript

tloda@aut.UUCP (Tony Loda) (08/22/90)

Howdy,

I'm looking for serbian cyrillic fonts for the screen and for
a postcript laser printer (I need the analytic type) for a
crazy serbian friend of mine. This might be a wild goose
chase (I don't know if anything like this is likely to be in
public domain), but I'll try anyway.
I'm having a hard time getting mail through the
swiss email since I've been out here, so if anybody has
the material, your best bet is to post it to the newsgroup
or try using the automatic reply feature of the news
software.

		Thanks,

I once drew screen fonts (8x8, 8x14, 8x16) for ISO 8859-5, which includes
Serbian characters (that for MS-DOS; you're not saying what machine your
crazy friend is using; I'm hope he's not crazy enough to use a Mac:). I am
not aware of any PS, but if your friend can use TeX, there are METAFONT
fonts called WNCYR that include Serbian.

You can get them from MAILSERV@YMIR.CLAREMONT.EDU or from
LISTSERV@UBVM.CC.BUFFALO.EDU.
I'm not quite sure about YMIR's nomenclature; for listserv, send it mail:

I have a Mac PostScript font, and a 12-pt screen font to go along with
it, which supports all the Slavic languages that use
Cyrillic--Serbian, Macedonian, Belorussian, Russian, etc. The
keyboard layout is not optimized for Serbian (`j' is option-j, etc.),
but you could fix that by editing the keyboard map with ResEdit.

It's a fairly plain, bland sans-serif font; I did it from scratch and
it's my first creation. However, it's certainly reasonable-looking.

If you're interested in this, let me know.
