[comp.fonts] Borland's FE Font Editor

dave@tygra.ddmi.com (David Conrad) (12/11/90)

Has anyone used the FE program from Borland Intl.? I got the copy of it
which is available from SIMTEL20 (PD1:<MSDOS.BORLAND>BGIFONT.ARC) but
there seems to be a major bug in it. When it writes to the screen it
appears to be ORing instead of XORing, so all its output overlays
previous output. The program seems to work (I've successfully edited
fonts), but the problem causes the menus to be unreadable unless one
sticks to the main menu, and, well, in general - it's a mess!

Are there any newer versions of this program - ones in which the bug is
corrected? Or am I the only one experiencing this bug? I'm using a
286-12 based compatible with Paradise VGA, and this would be the first
program I've encountered that finds my hardware incompatible.

Respond via email, I'll summarize to the net. Thank you.
