One of my favorite old-time/cult memories of a long gone Sci-fi era (...) is the font used in "those days". Does it have a name, and has it been TeXified??? And, by the way, what was it "really" used for? A pre-OCR? Such fonts are styled after "machine readable" fonts (look at your checkbook). I've seen them for laserjet, which can be converted (with some limitations) to pk.
