Does any one have any info on terminal packages available for the TRS-80 Color Computer? I would like to get one that allows selecting baud rates (at least 300,1200) and allows writing data to disk. Any experiences would be very helpful. Thanks in advance. Dan Hoelker ihps3!ihuxs!mstach

From: Mark Pratt <Pratt@Radc-Tops20> The Radio Shack Color Computer VIDTEX cartridge does allow communications with other hosts but has several limitations. 1) It only allows 300 baud connections. 2) You have no ability to download the CC from a host. The code does save a text in memory but is only accessible when the modem connection has been terminated. Even then you can only redisplay the old text. If there is a way to save the text on tape or disk, then it's not documented. 3) There is no "DELETE" character available. The code will generate a "BACKSPACE" but no "DEL". If you only talk with TOPS-10 systems or systems which allow DEL or BS, fine, but if you use TOPS-20, it's a real pain. There are several companies which are offering terminal packages for the CC, just scan the pages of 80 MICRO which is becoming more and more CC oriented. -- Mark -------
