OK, thanks for the replies. This is what the mail header looks like now: From root@faux-pas Fri Apr 8 11:17:04 1988 Date: Fri, 8 Apr 88 11:17:15 EDT From: root@faux-pas (System Operator) To: buzz Subject: TZ test Status: R All I did was to recompile the sendmail.cf file. Apparantly it had been compiled before under the old TZ variable. The shutdown mesage looks like this though: root@faux-pas[1]# shutdown SHUTDOWN PROGRAM Fri Apr 8 11:22:12 1988 Do you wish to enter your own delay to shutdown Default is 1 minute, (y or n):n Do you wish to enter your own message (y or n):y enter your message :TZ test ----> Broadcast Message from root (???) Fri Apr 8 08:22:25... <---- TZ test Minutes to SHUTDOWN :1 Someone said that I should patch the _Timezone in the kernel, but I have a feeling the problem is with (maybe)running newunix, or autoconfig, or... under the old TZ or something like that. -- Mahboud Zabetian buzz@phoenix.princeton.edu (609) 520-1271 183 Little Hall root@faux-pas.princeton.edu (A/UX!)
