[comp.unix.aux] NFS on Macs

aem@ibiza.Miami.Edu (a.e.mossberg) (10/24/88)

We have 12 Mac II's running A/UX. I'm trying to get NFS to work on them. I've
set up all the files (exports, fstab, inittab) as it's done on other systems, but
when a client comes up it reports "access denied". Why? Does A/UX have another
file to be set up? The client is also in the servers hosts.equiv file, and vice
versa. Please don't say RTFM, as we have yet to receive *any* manuals from
Apple.

Thanks,

In order to bring AUX 1.01 up as a server, you have to export root, eg
/ -o for read-only. This isn't well documented.
