[comp.unix.aux] Backing up to an external hard disk

I thought it would be easy.  I'd just make a copy of my internal disk
to the external disk, but Nooooo.

Well, I can partition the external disk and run mkfs and copy a unix
file system to it but I can't seem to create a recognizable mac partition
on the disk.  Can anyone out there help?
