[comp.unix.aux] NFS mounts on A/UX - HELP!

lad@lad.scs.com (Lawrence A. Deleski) (01/12/90)

I've been having a great deal of trouble getting NFS mounts to work
correctly on my A/UX 1.0.1 system.

I have installed nfs, and everything I think I need to get it to work. But
no matter what I do, I always get 'device not found' or RPC_ something or
other errors.

This is my /etc/inittab:

sy::sysinit:/etc/sysinitrc </dev/syscon >/dev/syscon 2>&1       #System Init
is:s:initdefault:                               #First Init State
bl::bootwait:/etc/bcheckrc </dev/syscon >/dev/syscon 2>&1       #Bootlog
bc::bootwait:/etc/brc </dev/syscon >/dev/syscon 2>&1            #Bootrun
command
rc::wait:/etc/rc 1>/dev/syscon 2>&1     #System initialization - runcom
sl::wait:(rm -f /dev/syscon;ln /dev/systty /dev/syscon;) 1>/dev/systty 2>&1
pf::powerfail:/etc/powerfail 1>/dev/syscon 2>&1 #Power fail routines
er:2:once:/usr/lib/errdemon
cr:2:once:/etc/cron </dev/syscon >/dev/syscon 2>&1
lp:2:once:/usr/lib/lpsched >/dev/syscon 2>&1    # Set to "once" for lp
co::respawn:/etc/getty console co_9600          # Console Port
tb0:2:respawn:/etc/toolboxdaemon > /dev/syscon 2>&1 # set to "respawn"
nfs0:2:wait:/etc/portmap # set to "wait" for networking
nfs1:2:off:/etc/ypserv # set to "wait" for yellow page server
nfs2:2:wait:/etc/ypbind # set to "wait" for yellow page client
nfs3:2:wait:/etc/nfsd 4 # set to "wait" for NFS server
nfs4:2:wait:/etc/biod 4 # set to "wait" for NFS client
nfs5:2:once:/usr/etc/rpc.mountd
nfs6:2:once:/usr/etc/rpc.rstatd
nfs8:2:once:/etc/mount -at nfs > /dev/syscon 2>&1 # set to "once" for NFS
net4:2:wait:/etc/in.routed # set to "wait" for routing
net5:2:once:/usr/etc/in.rwhod # set to "once" for rwho
net8:2:once:/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q30m # set to "once" for mail
net9:2:respawn:/etc/inetd # set to "respawn" for networking
net0:2:wait:/etc/named /etc/named.boot # set to "wait" to be a nameserver
00:2:off:/etc/getty tty0 at_9600        #Port tty0 (modem); set to "respawn"
01:2:off:/etc/getty tty1 at_9600        #Port tty1 (print); set to "respawn"

Can anyone give me any ideas?

Errr... did you reconfigure the kernel with nfs support?

Give us the exact error messages.
