Concerning your query about a handheld programmable...Casio has just recently come out with a handheld computer for a couple hundred. Now, this is more than $120, but what you get is heads and shoulders over any handheld calculator. It has rom BASIC, and you can pick up a printer, expansion modules, etc. Even I'm feeling future shock...my first calculator was a used HP in '74 for $250...then a new HP-25 a year later for $200...now a pocket casio with full scientific capabilities for $29.00...now they're offering a hand-held "computer" for less than I paid for that silly HP 8 years ago. I love it.
