Hi, Let me preface the following with the statment that I have NEVER run UNIX before, but have used a Mac since 1984 and computers since 1978. So, although my questions might seem trivial, they are from a lack of UNIX knowledge... I just installed A/UX 2.0 on a Mac IIci (8 meg) system. I installed onto a Conners 105 mb disk using Silverlining to do the partitioning. I also have connected 2 other HD drives, a 665meg and a 332meg. Everything went perfectly until I start A/UX up. ===== Problem 1: It says Checking, installing drivers etc just fine, then the login screen comes up. I login as root, it says 'starting session for root', then I start getting the following messages: scsitask: unrecognized message 0x1 disk write c0d0s0: Error: Unit attention Logical block 8256, physical block 9714 retry successful, try = 2 I get this kind of message about 12 times (BTW, To see these messages I had to be in B&W mode, in 8-bit mode they came out real small, like old Macpaint runnig on a color Mac did). After these 12 messages, taking about 2 minutes, the desktop appears correctly. ===== Problem 2: My other 2 MAC disks (665 and 332 meg) do not mount onto the desktop. ===== Problem 3: When I go into the folder 'Useful commands' and try to set the date like the manual says, I get an alert saying: The File "Commandshell24" could not be opened (This application is not compatible with the running system). I tried alot of other programs and the same thing happens. ===== HELP!!! ================================================================== Phil Hunt "Wherever you go, there you are!!!"
