Once again, I am offering to the net my port of Sendmail 5.64 for A/UX.
As some of you may recall, my first attempt had some problems in resolving
host names, so I took it off ~ftp/pub and hacked soome more with it.
The fix was quite simple...
Recompiling the source with NAMED_BIND undefined makes everything work!
Evidently, with this symbol defined, sendmail attempts to interface with
the nameserver directly, using MX records and resolver routines. Obviously,
if you don't have named running you don't need this. This trick is that
even WITH named running, you also don't need this, since the gethostent()
routines (such as gethostbyname, etc...) will do the nameserver resolving
for you!
It's available under ~ftp/pub/AUXsm564.tar.Z on jagmac2.gsfc.nasa.gov
(128.183.44.1). As before, a sendmail executable is included.
