[comp.unix.aux] Printer problem in A/UX2.0

rw02@GTE.COM (Robert Weihmayer) (08/16/90)

I installed A/UX 2.0 on a MACIIci and have been running for a
little while without problems even with my printer (an LQ850 that
operates with MacOS and Grappler LX) connected. Then the file system
became corrupted. I ran fsck and rebuilt without problems. Now I keep
getting console warnings:

atstatus:no printer selected by MAC chooser

The 2.0 chooser does not let me assign my printer to any port because
it complains about appletalk being on (this is a self-standing
machine). The chooser dialog box also does not have the Appletalk
on/off buttons. How do I get rid of the console messages(and
intensive disk activity) created by this condition?

While I am on the topic of printers, has anyone operated non Apple
printers, like my epson LQ850, on a MAC under A/UX 2.0?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
