[comp.unix.aux] X11R4 libraries for A/UX "official" release

smithrud@uswat.uswest.com (Gary Smithrud) (09/08/90)

I installed the X11R4 server update (from Apple), but the libraries are
still R3, which makes source code incompatable with our Suns (running X11R4).
We tried building the R4 libraries after configuring for AUX1.1 and using
gcc-1.37.91, but the resulting libraries had major structural alignment
problems (ie, values returned from the server wasn't processed correctly).
Has anyone built the R4 libraries and used them with Apple's R4 server?
If so, how did you do it? Could I possibly ftp them (this would be nice!)?
And what about Fred? Did he ever climb out of the pits of despair after
George stole the ladder? And will George be arrested for hitting that Police
Woman with the ladder after he had looked behind him? Inquiring minds
couldn't care less. Thanks for any information...preferable on the first
three questions.
