[comp.unix.aux] Mounting A/UX 1.1 and 2.0 together

brian@fog.ann-arbor.mi.us (Brian S. Schang) (09/26/90)

I am having trouble mounting A/UX 1.1 and 2.0 together. I can mount
A/UX 2.0 filesystems using A/UX 1.1, but cannot mount 1.1 filesystems
using 2.0. The 2.0 mount command tells me that the 1.1 filesystem
is a 'dirty filesystem'. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way
to do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

The A/UX 2.0 release notes cover this. Page 10 says you must run fsck
on the 1.1 (SysV) file system so that fsck can mark such file systems to
conform to a new mechanism for distinguishing between file systems that
need to be checked and file systems that do not need to be checked.
