coolidge@cs.uiuc.edu (John Coolidge) (10/20/90)
After digging out of the mound of work that's piled over me, I'm finally getting the X11R4 source patches out the door. Sorry about the delay... There are seven files on wuarchive.wustl.edu, in the directory systems/aux/X11R4/diffs. One is the README, five are patches to the five libraries (X11, Xt, Xaw, Xmu, Xext), and the last patches the config directory. There are a bunch of notes in the README; most or all of which are very important :-). There are quite a number of messy things involved in the build; hopefully someone (or several someones) will clean them up and send me the results. I've tried to explain a lot of why some of the changes were made and what they do in the README; feel free to send mail asking about specific changes or any other questions. I think the bulk of these patches should work for other SYSV systems as well; please send me the results of this. I'm going to be out of town 10/20 - 10/26 at OOPSLA '90, so I'm not ignoring you if I don't reply :-). --John -------------------------------------------------------------------------- John L.
