I did a lot of research to find a way I could afford an ibm pc. I found one that involved buying the base unit (no disks, etc.) and optioning it from third party products. It looked real good on paper, but when I tried to buy it, I found out the hitch: Nobody wants to sell it to me. The basic 16K mainframe is unavailable for any reasonable price where I live. Every place says they can special order it but I'll have to wait 6 MONTHS! Does anyone out there know how to order the 16K mainframe in a reasonable time for a reasonable price? The selling price is $1265. I'm willing to pay postage over that, but more probably won't do.
