Just got off the phone with HP tech support, and they were not very helpful. HP told me that they don't think there is anyway to get the DeskWriter to work without a driver, and they don't have one. They also said they don't plan on writing one. Does anyone out there/here have the HP DeskWriter working with A/UX? I've been trying for several months to get it to work with NO success. All I can manage to do is freeze up the machine and get a core dump. .. Well, yes - pretty much working. I have an appletalk based deskwriter, and after
writing several filters (to munge tabs and nl's) and modifying lpr's [io]filter,
I am printing. However, I don't have any font control, and the margins
aren't quite right (too little white space). I can post/mail the details if asked.
