[comp.unix.aux] what are unsupported control codes?

What is the meaning of a message that says I have unsupported
control codes?  The message appeared on the console while I
was using the Chooser to set my monitor to 1024 by 768 pixel
display mode.  The display card is a Rasterops 8L, and the
message said something like "unsupported control code 9".

The monitor seems to work ok, but always boots up in black and
white.  It can be switched to color in the chooser, but reverts
to monochrome at the next boot.
