I received this from one of my users today. Since I don't do much Mac/OS support (I'm strictly unix), I'm not sure where to begin or what is causing this problem. Has anyone else had problems similar to this? ********************* The mac24 environment on my machine has been totally unreliable today. It started by not allowing me to paste a figure from SuperPaint in a Textures document, an operation I was doing successfully last week. The machine either closed Textures or just hung without responding to keyboard or mouse (sometimes the cursor would move, sometimes it wouldn;t't). There was one time early today when I got a System Error box, but it seemed to recover from that. The last time I went to mac24, the Finder hung after I clicked the close box on a directory window. Every time the machine hangs, I have powered down and rebooted. In summary, I think something I did today corrupted some piece of software somewhere, but I don't have any idea what. Any ideas? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe, one of these days (years), all unixes will be the same. I guess I shouldn't hold my breath, because I'd be out of a job.
