In setting up X Window on A/UX, they recommend setting NPROC and MAXUP to a value of 70. They refer us to Chapter 2 of the User's Guide. Well there is nothing about those variable there. Any help on how to set those variables will be appreciated. Please use the address below to reply by e-mail. Regards, Ephrem A. This piece of advice (offered in the README file in /usr/lib/X11) refers to an earlier edition of the X manual suite. NPROC and MAXUP are kernel tuning parameters, see the manual page for "kconfig (1)". The advice was intended for A/UX 1.x releases; if you're running with A/UX 2.0, NPROC and MAXUP are "factory" set at 100 and 50 respectively, these have proven adequate for all my development work. -- Steve Peters X Project Leader Apple Computer, Inc. peters@apple.apple.com
