I'd like to know if anyone has a driver for an Archive Systems 2150S Tape backup system (SCSI). I would like to be able to back my system up. Thanks, David Sotnick frontah@rpi.edu

I would like to be able to back my system up. It isn't too difficult: 1. Plug in the 2150S drive. 2. Use it as /dev/rmt/tcN (where N is its SCSI ID). Be sure to use multiples of 8k-byte blocks, as you would with an Apple 40-MB cartridge. For example: % dd if=/dev/rmt/tc5 bs=80k | cpio ic Although the Archive can deal with any multiple of 512 bytes, it streams better with larger sizes, and forcing 8K makes it work like the Apple drive. This, of course, doesn't constitute a product announcement, "which can only be made by formal prospectus." We just don't advertise support of the Archive drive. -- Rick Auricchio rick@apple.COM Mooney N894AR (408) 974-4227 Apple Computer Inc, A/UX Engineering,10300 Bubb Rd, MS 50-UX Cupertino CA 95014 Work is for people who don't know how to fly.
