[comp.unix.aux] Can't login via telnet or rlogin

In trying to log into my Mac via either telnet or rlogin, I get the
error message

    login: process of type 7 already running on /dev/ttyp1

Any ideas of what's going on. There have been no problems in the
past, and the only changes have been a kernel rebuild after my
last attempt at fixing things :-).

This is A/UX V2.0 on a Mac IIcx.
