I have an old HP-25 on which the tactile click on the zero key disappeared. It was real annoying and I considered buying another or sending it to HP for repair when a classmate (who worked for HP) suggested that I throw it into a bucket of water (without batteries), work the keys a few times, and let it dry out. I was sceptical but tried it, figuring it was time to buy a new one anyway. The click came back and the calculator worked fine once it thoroughly dried out. John Robertson (houxn!3211jsr)
