Does anyone know if 2.0.1 fixes the kernel bug that prevents a Korn shell user from using the Escape-vi-line-editing feature? -- ======================================================================= #include <std/disclaimer.h> =:^) Jim Jagielski NASA/GSFC, Code 711.1 jim@jagubox.gsfc.nasa.gov Greenbelt, MD 20771 "Exploding is a perfectly normal medical phenomenon. Huh? Works fine for me. Use it all the time from CommandShell (some way) under A/UX 2.0, and directly on dial-up ports. Could you post more details, please? -- Dominic Dunlop

Furthermore, I think that there's a patch for this avaliable by FTP from Apple- but I'm _NOT_ sure about that. --- Alexis Rosen Owner/Sysadmin, PANIX Public Access Unix, NY {cmcl2,apple}!panix!alexis

Oops... looks like one very important line was skipped/munched/or-plain- forgotten in my original post: this ONLY occurs under the Console Mode... I'm told that it's fixed in 2.0.1 :) -- ======================================================================= #include <std/disclaimer.h> =:^) Jim Jagielski NASA/GSFC, Code 711.1 jim@jagubox.gsfc.nasa.gov Greenbelt, MD 20771 "Exploding is a perfectly normal medical phenomenon. The problem was that you had to hit ^Q after you used the ESC key to get into vi editing mode on the ksh(1) command line. Yes the bug is fixed in A/UX 2.0.1. The version of Korn Shell has also been updated to "Version 11/16/88d". That should make ksh(1) hackers very happy. -- -ped- . Paul E. Dumais A/UX Specialist Apple Canada, Inc. . .
