Will someone tell me WHAT the deal is with restore? There is, of course, /etc/restore, but there is also /etc/fs/svfs/restore (for SVFS file systems) and /etc/fs/ufs/restore (for UFS). What do these "hidden" restores do? Am I correct in assuming that /etc/restore is the front-end to these two hidden ones? That is, if restore sees that the FS-type is ufs, /etc/restore "calls" /etc/fs/ufs/restore ? Therefore, if you want to add restore capability to Eschatology, you must eu all 3 files... right? Finally, say I have a nice new UFS file system. It's clean and empty. I also have a dump.bsd archive of a UFS file system... when I use restore, will restore: 1. Since I didn't specify -T assumes that the FS is svfs? 2. Use the FS-type that the dump was made from? 3. Use the FS-type that the restore is going to? What happens if I do a dump of a svfs and restore it to ufs, or vice-versa? -- =========================================================================== #include <std/disclaimer.h> =:^) Jim Jagielski NASA/GSFC, Code 711.4 jim@jagubox.gsfc.nasa.gov Greenbelt, MD 20771 "I object to all this sex on the television.
