Modelling and Control of Lightweight Robots by Prof. M. Vidyasagar of Electrical Engineering University of Waterloo Abstract Most of today's robots are massive and heavy. Typically a robot can pick up a MAXIMUM of 3% of its own weight. Improving this ratio by building lightweight robots requires one to model and to be able to control the elastic vibrations of such robots. This talk will describe some work, both theoretical and experimental, in the modelling and control of lightweight robots. DATE: Wednesday, November 16, 1988 TIME: 3:30 p.m. PLACE: University of Waterloo, Davis Centre, Room 1302 Everyone is welcome. Refreshments served.
