After my preliminary posting about pears, the darn things refused to ripen for a week. However, they're now getting to the perfect state for picking: a little firm still but rosy pink and yellow in colour. Please come and get some! Since i'll be away next week, you can check with Dave Forsey in CGL (drforsey@watcgl) about getting some. If you come later in the week, you're advised to bring a ladder. We can loan you a fruit picker - but these are tall trees.
